itinerary: ho chi minh city on a weekend

Pho in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

what better picture than a bowl of pho for this post, huh? this delectable-looking soup was like the very essence of why breinn and i headed to saigon. although, the dirt cheap fare i had snatched, also had something a lot to do with it. who am i to deny such fact? the mere poor me.

breinn visited me here in singapore, his second time this year to celebrate his completion of another decade (i'm going easy on him. that's why, i'm keeping it vague. haha) but keeping up with my impulse, i left him with no choice but to fly with me to ho chi minh and stuff ourselves with good food and importantly, with less the dough.

of course, we visited the common tourists spots and while we're at it, also scampered under the rain and got cozy in ubiquitous vietnamese cafes. yeah, it wasn't so bad. really. i'd gladly welcome a replay, for sure.

Late lunch at Jollibee (Breinn had again no choice. haha)
Get haircut at Hung Pasteur Salon (while Breinn snoozed...)
Further walk towards the plush side of HCMC (Versace? Armani? Oh yes!)
Stroll along the river (Dinner on a boat was too expensive for us.)
Dinner at Pho24 (A real value for money!)
Trung Nguyen Cafe (Capped the night with a Vietnamese tea and a slice of cake!)

Day 2: 21-July, Sunday
Complimentary buffet breakfast at the hotel
      Mass at Notre Dame Cathedral
      Snack on Street Food
      Lunch at Highlands Coffee
      Reunification Palace (Finally!)

Pass time at a nearby park (HCMC has many parks!)
      Checkout from Hotel
      Head to Airport by Taxi
Dinner at the airport (Burger King lol)
      21:40 - 00:35 HCMC to SIN Jetstar's 3K552
                            GMT+8:00
      Zzzzzzzzz

the two days seemed not enough but the weekend was just right for the activities that we had in mind. food. coffee. tea. rain. some tourist spots. parks. and food again. well, ain't that fun?

o-O
